Cancelling Private Registrations on GoDaddy

Godaddy gave away free Private registrations early last year when your order amount crossed a certain amount, which tempted most of us to try out Private Registration

When you choose Private Registration using DomainsbyProxyas in this case. Your name wont be visible in the WHOIS Database results.

Registrant would be
Domains by Proxy, Inc.
DomainsByProxy.com
15111 N. Hayden Rd., Ste 160, PMB 353
Scottsdale, Arizona 85260
United States

and other details would be something similar

Private, Registration techquack.com@domainsbyproxy.com
Now Im not a big fan of Private Registrations but I have tried it.

Now some of my domains are coming up for renewal and I dont see a point in keeping the domains private by paying almost $7 more for this lame thing

I decided to renew the domains but the private registrations were enabled by default.

I saw this thread on DP which  mite have saved my ass.

I was wondering if have received any email in the past from  support at domainsbyproxy dot com

Gmail search did the trick . I had indeed received an email from them wayback with a username and password was my godaddy’s

Now can you see a checkbox to select the domains ? You can select the domains you don’t want to renew the private stuff.

It asks for a confirmation and then your done.

Back in my domain control panel in godaddy, the domain got updated to public registration type. So Domainsbyproxy is inside godaddy’s datacenter ?

Mission Accomplished .. managed to renew the domains without private registration

There’s some cool fading effect when you scroll through the ads by using the buttons.

You might end up making more money from adsense as users might see more than 4 adlinks  but in the same place.

Its not showing up on all sites.

Its seems to be under testing.

It applies only to text ads

TUAW reports that Apple is planning to launch developer SDKs for the iPhone and iPod Touch in Feb 2008 at the MacWorld conference.

Apple’s hot news page  has info about the same .

It will take until February to release an SDK because we’re trying to do two diametrically opposed things at once—provide an advanced and open platform to developers while at the same time protect iPhone users from viruses, malware, privacy attacks, etc. This is no easy task.

Yes. We agree. No easy task to get Developers use you SDK . IPhone is indeed getting too much attention these days .

Google Mobile Docs : Hit or Miss?

Google Docs Mobile is Live now. This new interface contains one Search Box, Recent Documents, your folders and your documents. Instead of Displaying the extensions, there is an icon for spreadsheet, doc, ppt that is getting displayed.

In spread sheets you have a single column display and upon navigation your are moved to other columns. Its compatibility is much with iPhone where you get more features. Still a lot to go, we have to wait for the reviews from the users. With few discriminants Google Mobile Docs is a hit.

Chinese man arrested for Olympic Internet fraud

BEIJING (Reuters) – A Chinese man who cloned an Olympics Web site and made around $50,000 (24,000 pounds) from fake prize draws has been arrested by police in the island province of Hainan, state media reported.

Liao Peigui, a 20-year-old computer engineer in Danzhou city had persuaded his victims to transfer 10 to 20 percent of the value of their “prize” into a bank account he had opened.

His copy of official Web site www.beijing2008.cn, which currently gets more than 1 million visits a day, netted Liao a suspected 400,000 yuan ($53,300), the Xinhua agency said in report late on Sunday.

In the summer, Beijing ran a special campaign to root out street peddlers selling fake Olympic products.

China is considered the largest source of counterfeit goods in the world, causing billions of dollars in lost sales to makers of everything from music and movie DVDs, designer clothes and consumer electronics and software.
